Amaryllis
Classic under 40 feet
Amaryllis is a 33’ classic wooden yawl, built in Whitstable in 1937.
She was originally 26’ long but, during a rebuild, had her stem and transom extended, creating the classic shape she is today, with an overhanging stern.
Her current owner, David McCabe, a boatbuilder from the Exe, found her in a local boatyard and had to replace a couple of planks on the bottom before launching her.
He has used the boat to sail locally with family, cruising to the Scilly Isles in 2020.
In 2021, he sailed Amaryllis solo around Britain, following his daughter in her boat, ‘Falanda’.
