Amiina
Junk Rigged
Amiina started life as ‘Rotherhithe Rooster’ around 1970. Designed by Van der Stadt, the hull was moulded by Tylers on the East Coast and completed by HH Marine of Horndean.
She was restored from an abandoned state in 2009.
Amiina has been re-configured to a novel split-junk rig, ideal for single-handed sailing and she has performed very creditably in passage races with the other Poole Splinters.
She has competed as the smallest boat in the ‘Round the Island’ race always in the top quartile of her class.
In 2021, after a great cruise in company with Minnow and Mr Fox from the Solent, little Amiina won ‘First in Class’ of 5 junks in the 2021 Brixham Heritage Regatta.Â
